Something simple …… black pepper ham with French bread
Something light …….. home-made French onion soup
After having a heavy brunch, something simple and light for dinner sounds very tempting. As always a bottle of wine is a must to enjoy with the meal.
Finding a bottle of everyday wine is fun and being asked for advice is even more rewarding. My first question is always the price point. For me white wines around $1xx and red wines around $2xx are my definition of everyday wines.
Tonight the Bordeaux red is Ch Respide-Medeville from Graves, not a very well-known Chateau. But the owner is a Champagne house that produced a rosé Champagne that I enjoy a lot.
The wine is medium body, shows black fruit and vanilla, the tannin is quite smooth; a wine that could pair with white meat and red meat. Definitely match well with the simple and light dinner.
So my first rule is to go for a wine maker you enjoy!
